As a PhD student in the 1920s, Cecilia Payne realised that the Sun and stars are primarily made up of hydrogen and helium - only for a man to take credit for her discovery.
This is her story:

You won't believe what happened next! PASSIVE VOICE e.g. Samples were collected and tested. HAIKU VOICE e.g. Quiet science lab. Workers arrive with samples. The testing begins. PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE VOICE e.g. We did all the collecting and testing. No need to thank us. Just doing our job. Ireland Below threshold Threshold 9,165 Statements of support 9,078 Percentage 99.05%
Good morning. Matters are proceeding well for Ireland on this official EU citizensβ petition to ban conversion therapy in the EU.
We were bestilled at 52% last Wednesday.
7days later and weβre about to become one of the 7 countries the petition needs to hit threshold.
Good work to you all.
Welcome to the MU Library #Makerspace BlueSky page.
We look forward to sharing our #3D and #VR journey with you.
We would love to hear from you and get some inspiration from all the #makers out there.
I'm pleased to say that the MDPI paper in Logistics about tomatoes roaming the fields has been retracted. I've added a PS to the blogpost deevybee.blogspot.com/2025/01/toma...
No indication whether anything done re the editors or peer reviewers. I have asked for information about that.
Here's something that takes seconds and could have actual positive outcomes.
There is an official 'citizen's petition' system in the EU. There's one open at the moment to ban conversion therapy for LGBT+ people in the EU.
Ireland can be 1 of the 7 nations needed
