I did some planting and weeding at the garden today only to find that some guerrilla gardener had planted some non-native canna lilies (canna indica).

I know this person is well intentioned, but this space is locals only.

They did get put to some good use as mulch.

The robins always love to search through the garden after we do any work.

We did some weeding this weekend. It was mostly common vetch, which I don’t think we saw last year.

The garden is mowed and ready to be weeded! Lots of small perennials are peeking up.

A dormant native garden in a traffic circle in late winter.

This is what we start with! Two signs knocked down and big ruts from a trucks driving through. Seems to happen every year.

All the perennials are just waking up, so it’s time to mow!
