In the 1930s, Soviets destroyed St Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral (12th century) in Kyiv.

Before the destruction, Ukrainian restorers saved parts of its frescoes and mosaics.
Some were moved to St. Sophia Cathedral.

I saw them and want to show you.

A lot of Ukrainian posts that don’t have any real substance get liked by me, but it’s only because I am learning to read the language and I like when I can.

I appreciate the connection and wouldn’t be offended if I was given the boot. I do have a fear that I will get labeled as an infiltrator sometimes which is why I like to clear the air early in conversations.

Probably because I don’t try to give advice on anything in Ukraine to Ukrainian followers. I follow accounts for news, but I also follow for cultural interests and to make friends.

I am learning to be more fluent, but English is my mother language. I have spent some time with the russian language also but for different reasons. Languages are my strange hobby.

A fairly close up picture of a cluster of Blue Oyster Mushrooms fruiting from a hole drilled into a 5 gallon bucket filled with straw and mushroom sawdust spawn. The straw under the bucket is starting to regrow and the grass is a nice spring shade of green. This is my first year growing Blue Oysters (Pleurotus ostreatus var. columbinus)but I also have and still grow Winecaps (Stropharia rugosoannulata).
