Many home care workers are immigrants. Now, some are afraid to go to work. Last year 65% of people working for Chicago area home care agencies weren’t citizens. There are early signs that a federal campaign against immigration is keeping them off the job.

Immigrants make up a disproportionate share of home health care aides. In the Chicago metro area, 65% of the 24,000 people who worked for home care agencies in 2024 were not citizens, according to a WBEZ/Sun-Times analysis of U.S. Census data. trib.al/btYWfT9

There might be somebody who knows somebody who met Ryne Sandberg and had a bad experience but we’ve never met them.

By all accounts Ryno was a very nice man in person and one heck of a ballplayer. May his memory be a blessing to his family and the fans.

Ryno was a Hall of Famer on and off the field whose love for the game inspired baseball fans everywhere. His legacy will live on in Chicago for generations to come.
