The other day Manchester United’s co-owner Jim Ratcliffe said the UK had been "colonised by immigrants"….today there’s this billboard outside of Old Trafford πŸ”₯….way to go Manchester πŸ’ͺ!

On Nov. 16, a mental health counselor recorded in Kamilla’s medical records that her mother reported the girl had lost her appetite after being β€œserved food that contained worms.”

A week later, the couple said, children were told to gather in the gym for what they believed would be a Thanksgiving celebration. Excitement spread as families saw tables set with turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, they said. The children waited expectantly. But when a parent asked when the celebration would begin, Oksana said, staff told them the holiday meal was for employees, not detainees.

The children, she said, watched despondently as the feast was packed away.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees β€” it was for the staff.

I’m not big on the disciplinarian model. I think you can see in any workplace that most adults don’t respond to it. But given that we all we need is someone to shake things up and win 4 matches, it should be ok.

Inside the climate group working everywhere but DC: β€˜You can still have huge wins’ Climate Cabinet supports candidates in state and city races as the federal government ignores the climate crisis

Climate win: In Naperville, IL, which gets its power in part from a coal plant that's one of the top 10 climate polluters in the country, city councilmembers just voted to stop negotiations w/ the agency keeping them hooked on coal.

We should remember that sport is a microcosm of society & entrenches rape culture in so many ways (athletes, coaches, media narratives). We can’t have a better world if we keep making exceptions for sporting outcomes. If you don’t take a zero tolerance stance then you *are* tolerating it, period.

Disappointing to listen to several pods discussing the prospect of De Zerbi getting the Tottenham job with no mention of how he enthusiastically rehabilitated Mason Greenwood while at Marseille.

It's a hard no from me for that alone, and I hope enough of the fanbase feel the same

It’s kind of silly to say that when you look at how poorly we’ve been playing. It’s not like we’re in 8th place and demanding CL qualification.

In southwest Idaho FBI raid, officials zip-tiped teens and used aggressive force, lawsuit alleges β€’ Idaho Capital Sun A lawsuit by ACLU of Idaho alleges law enforcement used aggressive tactics and unjustly detained hundreds of people, including children.

After a 16-year-old complained his zip-ties were too tight at a an ICE/FBI raid in southwest Idaho, an officer laughed and tightened them, the ACLU alleges in a new lawsuit.

He still has scars, months later.

The media angle is quite interesting. When I’m feeling charitable I think maybe the media finally understands that the club’s issues go beyond the manager bc Thomas Frank is someone they sympathize with. But I don’t think any other manager at a big club would get this leeway. Kind of baffles.
