Congratulations!
Iβm still in the queue after 39 minutes (with 1,543 people ahead of me). I guess the random number allocated to me was a high one.

Matthew Gent, Robert Hazle and Tasha Sheridan at Show Off! on 26 September 2025
It has been really lovely to have Show Off! back up and running again - and especially brilliant to be reunited with so many lovely people. One more to go this year - on 14 November- and then, with any luck, several more in 2026.
Here: Matthew Gent, Robert Hazle and Tasha Sheridan on 26 September.
I finally saw Ohio tonight, at the Young Vic. It was brilliant. Itβs well worth a visit.

Itβs tonight! Very excited to be bringing Show Off! back (again) - and also quite conscious that it is going to be a very busy day.

Songs For A New World tonight was fantastic!

Tonightβs show was Every Brilliant Thing, with Sue Perkins. It was fantastic.

Some exciting professional news:
Show Off! is returning in September! Matthew Gent and Tasha Sheridan will be co-hosting, with Robert Hazle at the piano. I will undoubtedly mention this again between now and then:)
Normal levels of theatre activity will resume next week - and there is certainly a daunting mountain of admin to be handled in the meantime - but it has been very strange going from the wonderful overstimulation of the Fringe to a very quiet and largely theatre-free late summer week in London.
23.08.2025 22:41 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There are other shows that I saw in previews here in London that were wonderful but that didnβt make my list of Fringe favourites.
17.08.2025 23:10 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0β¦
- @lesliegold.bsky.socialβs Tall Girl Energy
- @alisonspittle.bsky.socialβs BIG
and three very different solo shows at @traversetheatre.bsky.social:
- Sheβs Behind You by/with Johnny McKnight
- Lucky Tonight! by/with Afreena Islam-Wright
- Iβm Ready To Talk Now by/with Oliver Ayres
Some Fringe highlights for me were:
- The Ego, by Verona Verbakel and Anemone Valcke
- Graham Back in the Green by @ivograham.bsky.social
- Stuart Laws is Stuck by @stuartlawscomedy.bsky.social
- KINDER by Ryan Stewart
- Rose + Bud by Rose Cooganβ¦
I made it back to the Edinburgh Fringe this year as a punter, seeing 25 shows in 3 1/2 days last week. I absolutely loved it, despite the exhaustion that came with it.
17.08.2025 23:03 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The summer fun is largely over now. The coming weeks and months are likely to be action-packed, with plenty of cause for anxiety, but Iβm also looking forward to lots of things.
I will likely be a bit more present here going forward.
The West Reservoir in NE London on 20 July 2025
The weather was mixed, but it was nevertheless great to fit in a swim at the West Reservoir today.

It was great to be dancing with friends at the Rivoli again tonight, for the first time in far too long.
20.07.2025 02:05 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's Independent Bookshop Week. Ways you can support them:
-Don't browse a little bookshop, make a mental note of titles, then get them on Amazon. Buy the books then and there! Dare you!
-Get them to order books in, they almost always can.
-Just march in and present them with a huge bag of money.

It was a fun first day of Might Hoopla. @tonybirdlondon.bsky.socialβs fabulous outfit was popular!
31.05.2025 23:31 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0So glad to have seen The Ballad of Wallis Island last night. It is a lovely film.
31.05.2025 23:10 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Saw Meow Meow tonight - for the first time in a while but very much not for the first time - at @sohotheatre.bsky.social. The show was utterly brilliant. I highly recommend it.

27.04.2025 17:12 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So, long story short: if youβd be interested in coming to Show Off! in 2025, please let us know!
06.03.2025 22:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There were online nights after that, followed by some fantastic nights at The Square Pig in 2023 and 2024.
Show Off! has been on hiatus since the summer of 2024, but we are considering whether there is enough interest to try to bring it back.
Show Off! took place another 227 times at Koha, with its last outing there β although no one knew it at the time β taking the form of the 10th anniversary show on Friday 28 February 2020. It was another extraordinary night, attended by many new and old friends of Show Off!
06.03.2025 22:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Fifteen years ago right about now, on Saturday 6 March 2010, the first ever Show Off! night was in full swing. It was an exciting, exhilarating night at Koha with a great crowd.
06.03.2025 22:33 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Actually, it seems that it was 2001. The point still stands, though.
13.02.2025 22:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not exactly stunt casting, given her credentials, but Reba McEntire in Annie Get Your Gun on Broadway in 1999 was a revelation.
13.02.2025 22:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I do too!
You shall have to visit for some more of those!
Good times!
Also: how was that 20 years ago?!
Iβm sad that Why Am I So Single? has ended so soon, but really glad that I got to be there today for the final performances. It is an extraordinary show, and it was an extraordinary production - and today was really special.
