A few days ago we unlocked a #Kickstarter stretch goal to work with StoryWeave Productions on a fully accessible Actual Play of the Isles #ttrpgs in 2026.

UNDERISLES has made the stretch goal for an Actual Play series, which is phenomenal, and now it's working towards donating books to schools across the country AND speeding up the production for a game that teaches Makaton!

Hi Alasdair, we’re currently Kickstarting a trilogy of award-winning tabletop RPGs that teach players American & British Sign Language. It’s going really well, but any boost would be appreciated!

Yeah I hadn’t even thought about the change to Steam.

Yes completely, and I don’t blame them for using the platforms this way. But it has changed the culture of crowdfunding.

The publishers I’ve supported don’t have large upfront budgets, and need to actually run a Kickstarter to create their game. That’s not how it works anymore. Most publishers are completing a project and THEN crowdfunding, essentially turning platforms into preorder stores.

I’ve been really trying to help indie publishers - especially those running first Kickstarters - have a successful campaign, but the principle behind crowdfunding has changed so much over the last few years, it’s almost unrecognisable.

Whenever I hear @realgdt.bsky.social speak at a panel, it always inspires me.
