I live in Germany. We have what's known as a social market economy and it works quite well. It combines free-market capitalism with social policies and regulation to ensure fair competition and a strong welfare state. I wouldn't want to swap it for the US system.

WTF is he talking about?

I live in Germany. When you go to vote you have to show your ID Card. The difference to USA is that everybody, over the age of 16, has to have an ID card by law. So it's not a problem. This isn't true in USA. Many people that are eligible to vote do not have this kind of ID.

This is all so he can just claim he won the next election, regardless of the real outcome. There is no world in which he will accept defeat and the peaceful transition of power.

I can't imagine a life without it. Plus it's invaluable for social contact.

When he was murdered, he was almost exactly the same age as my granddaughter is now. It's incomprehensible to me how any human being could commit such a crime. Rest in peace, Eliezer Hirsh.
