And it is SUCH bullshit, because 1) I checked and the men’s sizes in the same suit go up to 3XL with no change in price, and 2) they don’t charge less for suits made for smaller body sizes.

And that, my friends, is what we call the Fat Lady Tax. Not to mention!

And it turns out that #Henderson makes a 7mm wetsuit in my size! Yay! I googled around to get an idea of the price, only to have the shop tell me that the suit in my size is double the cost of the standard size. Double.

I live in PA where the water ain’t so warm, so I wanted to invest in a 7mm suit, which is what you deed for cold water diving. I did a big search and found one (1) 7mm suit that would (maybe) fit me. Ordered, tried on: didn’t fit. :(

Called my dive shop (where I got my 3mm) to order from them. …

I am a scuba diver. I am also what is known as a “small fat,” as I usually wear a size 16, give or take. I have a 3mm full wetsuit (fits great!), which is what you wear in moderate to warm waters.
