I was at the start of the ride because it is next to the Children’s Theatre, where I was taking my daughter to a play. On our walk to the bus stop, we ended up at a protest at Alex Pretti’s memorial. This is life in Minneapolis these days.

Ha, I see axolotl stuff everywhere, not sure how I missed the capybaras!
Speaking of axolotls, I recently learned just how few survive in the wild. It’s really sad.
I’m very sad that my social media feed has been devoid of capybaras all these years!

This one is good too! I’m digging the new genre of Minnesota ICE protest songs.

I helped out a family with groceries today and their kid’s one request was a capybara stuffy. I didn’t think I’d be able to find one, but apparently capybaras are popular with the elementary schoolers these days. South American rodents for the win!

"They took the butcher,
they took the priest,
they took my neighbor
they'll take your niece.
They took the doctor,
they took the nurse,
they took the lady giving birth.
They took the gardener from his bed,
they shot the poet in her head"

Also, I know one of the people in this article. The Twin Cities, despite having a population over 700,000, feels like a small town sometimes. This is not unrelated to the extent to which people here are defending our neighbors.
