Could have been worse, could have called me Sue.
Not impressed, I too can roll a perfect joint.
Show me five consecutive beveled scrolls that all match in curve and dimension, then I'll bow down to your talent?
The struggle is real..

Jigasaurus, but for a technology that is modern, and people actually use.
Thinking is usb-c flash drive/ 8 track holder?
(It's 4140 through hardened, and my attempts to anneal just that bit have been well intentioned, but pathetic in their outcome)
Just saying if you know of a tool, technique, or trick to address it, I would be all ears.
Either way, congrats again!
Currently struggling with trying to figure out how to make the 1" Hardie actually accept a 1" tool. The problem is some miscast on the inside that restricts it down to less than 3/4".
Just dedicate the 2 hours a day for the next 30 days hand filing it down?

My only previous anvil was a late 19th century PW. So pretty well worn.
All I did with the new one, on accounta the edges were super sharp, was to slightly round about 1.5-2" back from the shelf on the leading edge.
Should I consider doing more?
2/?
I'm new to this, but was thinking: if you have the time to document some of process (dressing a new anvil) even if it's not personally relevant to me, it's there for posterity?
As you know, I was in the market as well, and ended up buying the Emerson.

Finally. Congrats! Post video so we can hear the ring?

Poor sweet kitten.
It's amazing how resilient they are.
Have you considered just selling a kidney or a child and just getting a 15-20K Soderfors?
That's what what I would do if I had either to spare, lol.
I'll probably end up taking a flap disc to parts of it as well.

Hope you're making all of the mistakes in the meantime.

..but irregular as you go down the Z axis. It's purely as cast, with no attempt to square it up.

There should be a bit more rounding around the swayback, as I understand it. While the top is perfectly flat and level, the edge grinding is a little bit less finished than I would have expected for the price point.
That, and the Hardie is a bit out of square not only only in topdown profile,

Look forward to it.
I went ahead and got the 150# Emerson, and here is the feedback:
The 4140 cast, machined and fully hardened body has great rebound and ring (about 70-75%), that's the positive.
The negative is that the edges are a bit on the sharp side, where traditionally,
