I was explaining this to someone else but, people who use AI Keep thinking it makes them "just as creative" as a real artist.

But they haven't even cultivated their IMAGINATIONS.

They don't even have the well of *ideas* to pull from

Even just THINKING CREATIVELY is a skill you need to develop

Here are several happy Virginia opossums (Didelphis virginiana).
Some are carrying babies on their backs. Fallen leaves surround them.
The atmosphere is cozy and warm.

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

Every DCD album is a collection of flawlessness. There are - to ME - some weaker songs, but they're all wonderful on a spectrum of joy.

THIS is my favorite from Spleen and Ideal, because the Siren, the Prophetess, the Oracle - Lisa Gerrard - absolutely tears a hole in my heart with her voice.

How shocking, that computer programs, made by computer programmers, should be halfway decent at computer programming. If LLMs were as incompetent in their creators' area of expertise as they are at EVERYTHING ELSE, they never would have seen the light of day.

OTOH, some of us are frustrated that we'll never know ALL THE THINGS!

Knowing things is a curse and makes life uncomfortable. Lots of people would rather not deal with it.

Using โ€œlooks almost finalโ€ placeholders will also force your project in a more generic direction. Non-artists will get attached to the generic slop placeholder and if you try to exchange it with something more interesting theyโ€™ll say it feels bad and force you back to the generic option.

No, Huens just loved limited palettes!

25.11.2025 15:33 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

So at the same time as these Huens Prydian covers, ther were also ones by Don Maitz for the Yearling editions.

Dell had an embarrassment of riches for covers at this time, because they had two childrenโ€™s childrenโ€™s imprints, Yearling (trade) and Laurel Leaf (mass market), and would commission two different covers for the same book.

Iโ€™ve seen Huens originals, and, besides being beautiful, theyโ€™re TINY, only a little bigger than printed size!

I have to defend my peers and say thereโ€™s still amazing cover work out there if you look for it. But none of us are Jean-Lรฉon Huens!

According to the guy who runs the company, this was all part of their cunning plan, they purposely designed the ads with lots of empty space to get publicity from people talking about graffiti on the ads. Or, at least that was his story after they launched the campaign in New York.๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜

TRUMP [after spending 5 minutes with Zohran]: surplus value, itโ€™s a very wonderful thing, very wonderful, and theyโ€™re stealing it. Can you believe that?

Weโ€™re going to be looking very strongly at the bourgeoisie, what theyโ€™re up to

Cover illustration by Eleonor Piteira of the book 'The Bloodweaver' by C. N. Kuster, featuring a young man with eyes closed, holding a spiralling ball of blue magic in his hand. Through the light of the magic we can see the bones of his hand. He's wearing a uniform with a knife on his belt, and there is a landscape of vineyards on the background.
