Quick video for the 'we saved too many lives, spent too much $, sent inflation to the moon, made interest rates go up, and now we have to pay for our sins 😢' crowd.
The idea that NZ could have 'opted out' of global inflation surge is daft. Almost as daft as NZ opting almost uniquely for a recession.
Erica Stanford hiring a radical anti-Maori language & education advisor who is teaching Stanford how to roll back "de-colonisation" is both riveting and extraordinary
Logically it should be blaring red lights, but in practice, it's not apparently so

08.08.2025 03:47 — 👍 53 🔁 22 💬 8 📌 3Seven of the 10 young men involved in the controversial military-style academy (MSA) boot camp pilot reoffended, according to Oranga Tamariki. But the agency and its Minister is calling the programme a success, after eight of the original 10 participants successfully completed the first 12-month pilot. During the pilot, which has just concluded, participants ran away, one was kicked out of the programme and another was killed in a three-vehicle crash. Speaking to RNZ, acting senior manager in charge Iain Chapman said at the time the pilot began, the 10 participants were the "most serious and persistent young offenders in the country". Going into the pilot and expecting no reoffending would have been naive, he said.
There's a world of difference between expecting no reoffending, and calling 70% reoffending a success.

It's true - Luxon & National want to sell or exchange up to 67% of NZ's conservation lands
The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment states:
“This proposal would represent a major change to New Zealand conservation law...The vast majority of this land is of high ecological value.”
