Today, the IUCN has officially declared the slender-billed curlew (Numenius tenuirostris) extinct 😞

This is the 1st known extinction of a formerly widespread migratory bird species, whose range included Europe, North Africa & West Asia

The last confirmed sighting was 30+ years ago

Not sure I am this cynical, but it does seem as though the the only folks with their #elbows up these days are consumers and travellers. Average Canadians. Business community just keeping on.

Trumpists are going to make up whatever stories they like as casus belli to justify what's coming. It's what authoritarians do.

I find this level of support hard to believe. There’s no market case for this pipeline. It flies in face of general strong support for greater climate action. Why such support? Has the industry/Alberta PR push worked?
