We take in over 6,000 lost and surrendered pets every year. Our nonprofit also provides various resources to pet guardians in the community of Topeka and Shawnee County Kansas!
It’s been 6 months, “barn” cat Tom is an 80/20 cat (80% inside 20% outside). We have 3 dogs, & they’re all besties. I started classes & they love cuddling in bed together while I work. It’s like Thomas was made for our family. I’m forever grateful for y’all bringing him into our lives. ❤️

Stallion came to HHHS with a bit of a...situation.
He's sensitive about his issue, but basically...something lasted longer than 4 hours, and we had to call in our vet team for emergency surgery!

An animal’s first picture taken at the shelter isn’t usually beautiful. The goal is to snap a quick pic so their guardians can recognize them if they’re lost. We aren’t trying to cause too much stress on the animal. But sometimes 🤳🏼🤌

We’re a little worried for the integrity of this shelf in Cat Colony 1 since Prince and Elsa have been gracing it with their abundance. These two are a brother/sister pair, almost 8 years old, and looking for a home together!

Chris Farley came to us stressed and visibly unhappy. This isn’t unusual for a house cat who has rarely been away from home and familiarity. He displayed understandable defensive aggression. We moved him into our Admission Manager’s office, and he quickly decompressed and came out of his shell!

Boss is a perfect fit for our family. Our 2 dogs welcomed him with open paws. He’s gentle taking food and loves to cuddle.
