1. Been thinking a lot about Judith Butler’s notion of “grievability” with respect to Charlie Kirk, Gaza, Melissa Hortman and others.

It’s a way of thinking about whose lives are socially recognized as valuable and, therefore, whose deaths are publicly mourned.

The minute Kirk died we all knew the right would do this and yet a cavalcade of Democrats fell for it, including Newsom and Polis. Why the fuck after decades of this are leaders in the Democratic Party so fucking stupid?
