Just got brightspeed, free install and 2 Gbps symmetric is pretty nice. Ting always sounded good, but they never actually deployed to the entire (not that big) city.

The obvious thing for an eastbound cyclist to do is to cross diagonally over to the Water St. bike lanes on the leading pedestrian signal before the oncoming cars in Phase 3.

So many strange gymnastics for bikes, and real human riders won't want to deal with all of that, and will just go the more direct way, which (to me) questions the safety claims of all this confusing infrastructure.

I'm not a huge suburbs supporter, but I have to say they certainly understand snow removal way more than the city. Even the farthest parking spots are spotless at Barracks. Whereas I can't even get home because my street and sidewalks are impassable.

So I'm supposed to have my sidewalk cleared within 24 hours but the city doesn't even have to plow my street once in that time? I don't understand the double standard. #charlottesville

I was skeptical but after round two of shoveling I completely agree. I've shoveled a lot of snow but nothing like this dense ice stuff.

How come I lived in Michigan for 27 years and it wasn't until yesterday I learned about the spray your shovel with WD-40 and the snow won't stick trick?? Worked great.

And important to remember these cameras aren't even set to ticket for speeding at 26 mph, no, they are set for 35+ mph, or at least 40% over the limit.

I've now confirmed for myself that all the cameras have been physically removed.

We had the same symptoms. Heater stopped working and cold air didn't make it to the fridge. Repair person replaced the heater in less than an hour, good as new. $150 worth it.

This is cool! But, I appreciate that it's pretty privacy invasive. Obviously Metropolis is going to track everyone who parks downtown and at any of their other lots around the east coast.

I've parked at metropolis locations in DC and there are no gates. All based on license plates. I guess it's no different than a surface lot without gates. It's actually super convenient.

That's how I pass the time while waiting for the light at Ridge and Main, counting the number of drivers (illegally in VA) holding their phone. It's a nontrivial number.

Based on my bike rides, yeah, probably. Hence why I'm curious if anyone has tried to study this. The lack of stopping in particular is probably the most egregious issue.

Does anyone study what percentage of car trips are legal? As in, the driver does not violate the motor vehicle code the entire trip. Or is it just known to be zero percent?
