Behold, a wild Tangerine!

I know optimism and a drive to keep going can be difficult things to come by these days. But here's my secret. Spite. It's not so much that I really enjoy living in the world as it is now, but more that I know what kind of world I could be living in, and I refuse to die in a world like this.

Eet do be!

My only solace is the hope that Mitch McConnell gets to enjoy only a very short retirement, preferably haunted to his last moments by shame and guilt for the suffering he spent his life wreaking on this country.

It's occurred to me that the struggle between authoritarianism and democracy is at a tipping point, and which direction we tip will depend on which is stronger, the individual fear of the power held by authority, or the collective willpower to overcome that fear.

I sympathize on some level, but those who voted for him asked for this. It's their own fault they chose not to understand him and his policies. Live and learn I suppose.

A stillness sets in, and we feel the initial lifebringing drop of water. A sprinkle grows, and the Northern Downpour sets in.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Constitution was proven null and void the moment Trump was allowed to run again despite January 6th. If even one part of the Constitution can be ignored, any part can and will be ignored when convenient. We're in uncharted territory.

A nostalgic feeling flows in the air as a familiar tune rings in your head. From days long gone, the love you felt in moments past reaches back out to you, as does the pain that came with its end. But love is never truly lost, it simply transforms. I Don't Love You is both an end, and a new start.

As someone who got his pilot's license with the intention of trying to make a career of it, the new administrations gutting of the FAA, and the recent accidents that have resulted from that decision have made this a very uncertain time for at least the short term future of aviation and its safety.

Been practicing that bass line for just a moment like this.

I agree wholeheartedly that we need to do whatever we can to stop this. But I don't know what we can do. Trump doesn't care about the constitution, and the Republican party enables him. It feels like the Democrats aren't willing to push back beyond giving tepid criticism. We're all worried.

The nuttiest thing about this week to me is watching people I know who aren't worried about Trump and haven't been since before the election, because they don't think the mass deportations, tarrifs, even Project 2025, are real, even while it's happening right in front of them.

The unfortunate reality is that our government showed us the Constitution was null and void the moment they ignored the 14th amendment and allowed an insurrectionist to even run again in the first place. We're in uncharted territory with no guardrails.

Koro is balled up, napping in a pile of laundry on a bed, as beams of sunlight shine through the window, to warm her up and illuminate her coat. If only we could all be so lucky.

Someone else said it best. TikTok must have been buried in the Pet Sematary, because what we got back was not what was put to rest. After that Trump praise, I deleted the app. I couldn't bring myself to keep using it, it just feels wrong.

We bask in rays of early twilight as the winter wind sets in. A song is a longing, a desire to be somewhere far, far away from the pain of the world. But my way to the stars is through you, my dear. It's absurd that so many people act like they were tricked into voting for him. Like no, you were not tricked. He was very clear with his intentions. You ignored what he was saying and then made up a headcanon about what you thought he was gonna do, and then ran with that all the way to the polls.

When it comes to oligarchs, autocrats, and fascists, you'd do well to remember that when their power seems the most absolute, that's when it's actually at its most fragile. Greed is a hell of a thing, and the greediest among us will always devour each other when it comes down to it.

Napping, curled up in a blanket, in a lap, in a cabin keeping warm from the winter weather. Tangerine is truly living his best life, and he deserves no less.
