Introducing Stormé DeLarverie, one of our featured figures for Black History Month. She was the very definition of a caretaker for the LGBTQ+ Community. She defended those who could not defend themselves and raised money for victims of domestic violence.

For Black History Month we are featuring Willi Ninja who as a self taught dancer who was influenced by Michael Jackson, Fred Astaire, Asian culture, as well as other voguers of New York. He founded the House of Ninja which still honors his legacy to this day.

Hey folks! The Frederick Center will be closing early today, Friday February 6th at 3pm because of the anticipated weather. There will be no youth D&D this evening.

For Black History Month we are featuring Marsha P. Johnson who was an individual ahead of her time. During her life she looked out for others passionately. She would say "pay it no mind" in response to questions about her gender.

On Saturday, February 7, we have having our Queer Sexual Health Fair which is an event for ages 18+. If you are looking for an event for those under 18 the FBAC is hosting a reading and talk from "The Light Looks Like Me: Words on Love From Queer Youth". The talk will start at 3pm.

Next week, Wednesday, February 11th at 6:30pm we are hosting the Frederick County Mental Health Association to provide Suicide Awareness and Prevention Training.

Together we can change the narrative and remind each other to look out for one another.
