To expand on this, in my view the central, core tragedy of the Antigone (the play, not the [removed for brevity]) is that Antigone is right, but that Creon, while wrong(ish) *also* has a point: civic authority and unity are necessary in the aftermath of civil chaos and war.

And this should go without saying, but I guess it doesn't: You can and should deplore political violence, which is both unacceptable on its own AND because it makes us all less safe, but it does not mean that you airbrush a legacy of malice and darkness as a "spirited disagreement."
