Israeli Military Attacks Handala in International Waters, Abducts 21 Unarmed Civilians The Freedom Flotilla Coalition confirms that its civilian vessel Handala, en route to break Israel's illegal, genocidal blockade on Palestinians in Gaza, has been violently intercepted by the Israeli military in international waters about forty nautical miles from Gaza. At 11:43 Palestine time the Occupation cut the cameras on board Handala and we have lost all communication with our ship. The unarmed boat was carrying life-saving supplies when it was boarded by Israeli forces, its passengers abducted, and its cargo seized. The interception occurred in international waters outside Palestinian territorial waters off Gaza, in violation of international maritime law. Handala carried a shipment of critical humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza, including baby formula, diapers, food, and medicine. All cargo was non-military, civilian, and intended for direct distribution to a population facing deliberate starvation and medical collapse under Israel's illegal blockade.

"This is not a matter of internal Israeli jurisdiction. These are foreign nationals operating under international law in international waters. Their detention is arbitrary, unlawful, and must end."

development is such a crazy process in general but right now it feels especially silly

There have been very frank discussions online about the industry for years now since the writers strike. Theres just no official "statement" because no one knows what the future holds. Believe me, industry vets are as unsure and unfocused as you are.

Honestly the most newcomers can do in this situation is to just keep improving your craft and putting out art. While the industry is absolutely in shambles, I do think the ability to upload your work online and to make a name for yourself can still be a game-changer. Good luck!

The most talented artists I know are out of work! it's definitely not because of one person's individual skill/talent. I'm lucky enough to still be employed but I'm working in development on the side just in the hopes of having fulltime employment later! it's just so hard right now for everyone

Speaking strictly from the US animation industry, this is truly an unprecedented time of hardship. People up and down the career ladder are struggling to find work, the newest to the most experienced and talented artists. It truly is just luck at this point (and who you know that is also lucky)
