So. How about instead of making really tv series that get cancelled before they finish the fucking story... contractual obligations to finish or they dont see a dime.
Cuz I havent even watched Wheel of Time yet and I'm damned tired of these cliffhanger tv shows. Theres no fucking reason!

They've made it clear what they enjoy about this meeting supercedes any of the damage it is doing. As if I have the time for this anyhow, I DO have other responsibilitues I cannot do while smiling at this fucking camera while 30 other people prattle on about things that dont matter to my role.

I don't think I have ever come so close to just quitting on the spot from a job. I'm pretty tolerant of shitty business decisions cuz I'm usually good at navigating and shuffling things into a good direction.
But all of my suggestions and complaints have fallen on deaf ears.

With the advent of a new weekly meeting at work, my mood has tanked and I am growing more and more resentful of work. I hate it so much, its so ridiculously stupid. Its 2 hours that could be an email. Every time.

Well then. Finally happened. 33 years of using pocket knives all the time and I finally made a bad motion and sliced my middle finger open. More than a papercut but not terribly deep. Maybe less than a Mm honestly.
Smarts, but not bleeding too much. Its right on the joint though so moving it hurts.

My cat just died.

Just cant catch a break. Off to a great (sarcastic) start of this year.
My cat is sick and I don't know that hes going to make it.
The vet said he was perfectly fine only a few weeks ago. Brought him inside and he was doing so well. Now we just hope he makes it back to the vet tomorrow. 😥

Sometimes, instead of spending my writing time actually putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard as it were) I go on HeroForge and make little vignettes from scenes I've imagine.

Cleared the master bathroom out, and the closet out entirely. Also removed her bed from the master room. Still not in a state we can bring ours in, but I am a-ok waiting on that til the room is tody, our else it will just stress me out.

That ones actually in pretty decent condition too, despite some grunge on the surface. Hinges aren't too tight or loose and the blades sharp. The shears are aligned well too!

Collection of pocket knives located. Some of these are nice, but some were so heavily used theres nothing left to really keep even.

Today was exhausting. Got home and immediately crashed. Deep nap for 3 hours.

Been cleaning since Friday and still have so much to accomplish.
Little victories though. Can see the surface of the dinette table again. Cleared our more mail and old bills. Kitchen is usable again, though still not clean.
And we've busted out the boxes with all our stuff to go through and home.

You know, one thing that I find interesting right now is that since she has died, my sense of time has stretched out vastly.
I've been awake since 9:52am but lt feels like 5-6 hours.
It feels like its been a year since she died. Everything has just... slowed considerably. Its nice.

If you ever encounter a singular explanation for the ongoing success of D&D, it's worth treating with skepticism. If you name a thing that D&D does well, you can usually find several games that do it better. Size & recognition matter, of course, but the brand's been through rough times.

So turns iut the reason they thought it was only a single policy already claimed is because somehow the funds already paid for her were "released to the state" as of June this Year.

If it had only been for one person, it would have been ONE payment with two names on the contract. There was nothing on that paper that said the payment was only good for one of them. That makes no fucking sense.

Two payments were made, one for each person. With a seperate contract for both, makr nonrevocable.

Funerql homes are so fucking predatory. After going on and on about how they will honor the prepurchased policy, they are "suddenlyt hinking" that it might have only been one policy for both her and her husband, to whomever used it first.

I finally found the funeral policy, prepurchased 4 decades ago.
She paid $4,032.86 for this back in 1986 and due to that, we don't have to pay any more except for like... flowers and whatnot.
Funny how funerals cost nearly 5 times that now.
