There is one place, however, where Musk, with the help of his minions, achieved his goals. He did indeed shred U.S.A.I.D. Though a rump operation is now operating inside the State Department, the administration says that it has terminated more than 80 percent of U.S.A.I.D. grants. Brooke Nichols, an associate professor of global health at Boston University, has estimated that these cuts have already resulted in about 300,000 deaths, most of them of children, and will most likely lead to significantly more by the end of the year. That is what Musk’s foray into politics accomplished.

Musk should be asked about this in every interview he does now and forever. To ignore it is a dereliction of duty.

No IP is perfect, I will grant you that, but many authors today are actively and intentionally working on much more nuanced, complex, and compelling stories that are diverse, equitable, inclusive, and a nice place to belong.

Beyond race and body image, the series has also faced criticism for a lack of explicit LGBTQ+ representation within the books themselves, with a major character's sexuality only being confirmed outside of the published text.

The descriptions of characters like Dudley Dursley often rely on negative stereotypes about larger bodies, using his weight as a source of humor and associating it with his unpleasant personality. This contributes to harmful fat-shaming narratives.

While the books feature some non-white characters, many are given minimal development and remain on the periphery of the main narrative. This lack of significant roles for characters of color can perpetuate a sense of their otherness and unimportance within the story's world.
