Just got back from tonight's mystery screening, which turned out to be for the new Running Man adaptation. Can't fit my sentiment into a skeet, so here's a screenshot from my Letterboxd review:

08.11.2025 23:01 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Reading the article further, seeing Paramount label Andrew Garfield and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as anti-Semitic is just laughable. I know self-hating Jewish people exist, but...they very clearly are not?
Also, director Peter Berg is MAGA?! That shouldn't surprise me given his recent output, but...
Remember when Paramount fired Melissa Barrera from Scream 7 for speaking out about Gaza, we were all angry for a week, but now everyone seems hyped about Scream 7 coming out soon?
Yeah, Paramount think they can get away with it again on a larger scale.
Fuck them. Don't see Scream 7.
Could my Pokรฉmon trainer BE any more trans?

Also, yay to Radio Silence resurrecting another 90s horror franchise!
Also also, defo feels like that mummy movie from Evil Dead Rise director Lee Cronin out next year will HAVE to change title now.
I could listen to Michael Shannon ramble all day. He's like a loveable but grumpy uncle, always with an interesting story to tell and just realising profound things about them in the moment of retelling them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UwF...

My American pals, don't make the same mistake our "left" politicians have: don't sacrifice your allies. Whatever short-term gains you think you'll make, they WON'T be worth it.
Going through this frame by frame, and a new level of hell is discovered in every other one.

27.10.2025 14:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Saw @realgdt.bsky.social's FRANKENSTEIN today with a few pals and absolutely adored it. Might be my fave interpretation of the story yet. Oscar Isaac is great, but Jacob Elordi steals the show. I was tearing up towards the end, but the person sat behind me was bawling the whole third act! โ โ โ โ ยฝ

Hey followers, want to test something.
I think when we're kids, we think every movie we watch is great but, at some point between the age of 8-13, you see a film that breaks that belief and you realise 'Oh, movies CAN be bad.'
What is your movie that broke it for you?
Mine was Cat in the Hat.
Me: I don't want to travel to anywhere in the US right now.
Also me: I would totally move to NYC if this was my mayor.

I was first referred to Sandyford in Nov 2017. Had my first appointment in June 2019. Didn't finally get an HRT prescription through them until Dec 2020. Was luckily able to go private in interim.
An 18 month wait was too much back then. It is now literally 12 times worse. The GIC system is broken.
My audience was much the same. There was a couple behind me who tactfully praised it as "challenging", but everyone else seemed frustrated throughout. I gave it my best shot, but came out similarly underwhelmed. Agreed: this is not the kind of movie you should spring on an audience as a surprise.

Farewell, Sundance Kid.
A four-panel comic. Panel 1: A guy looks in on a lady who's crying and says, "Hey, is everything okay?" She replies, "It's just... the Bone Farmer... he died." Panel 2: He: "He was that thing that would break into people's homes and steal their skeletons while they slept, right?" She: "So sad." Panel 3: They are looking at a picture of what I would describe as an interdimensional monster with way too many eyes and teeth. And a bowtie. She: "I mean obviously: IDEOLOGICALLY I didn't agree with him. With regards to skeleton ownership. But his smart li'l bowtie!" He: "You have to admire his tenacity for a cause he BELIEVED IN!" Panel 4: A man in a gigantic glass jar whose body appears to be pretty much just a shapeless lump resting on the bottom of it, obviously missing a skeleton: "Gonna have to disagree with you folks here." The first guy: "Too SOON, Geoff!"
This Mattie Lubchansky comic seems topical again.

I'm not going to be surprised if there's a bunch of other dog whistles in the remaining issues. Valiant would do well to just take the L, do a thorough second editing pass, and sever ties with the dude before this gets worse.
I hate the phrase "Don't let them live rent-free in your head."
Like, you don't think I want them to go? I've told them to fuck off out of my brain numerous times, but those thoughts have claimed squatters' rights and, contrary to fringe belief, there's no thought police to come forcibly move them
This gives me flashbacks to the time some rando approached me in the street cos I was wearing my film school branded hoodie and asked, "I want to make a movie. How much would one cost?"
I just said, "A lot more than you think," and walked away.
WB doing this after the failure of Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad KTJL and MultiVersus, as well as cancelling Monolith's Wonder Woman?
