What an absolute hero

Wuthering Heights ('just a book') still feels brutal to read even now. It's a horror story about pain and rage and racism and class and the generational consequences of those things.

To flatten the story of Heathcliff and Catherine to a (white) period romance is a horror in and of itself.

With Wicker Man, the Meat-iness of it (and, by extenstion, it's Wet-ness) is placed at a distance and the horror is more spiritual and faith-based

I think Dry would be more abstract, existential horror right? Something like The Babadook where there is definitely threat but not to The Meat?
