There’s a new La Greca-ism: “Centering pass to the wall”

I didn’t like it at first, but it really grew on me, and yeah, l’ll miss it too. I like it for its quirkiness and its Jersey pride, which I’ve always had (even during the times I’ve lived in PA and NY)

So the #NJDevils scored. I still predict they lose, and do so by giving up 9 shots in the whole game.

Now what do I do? This was not something I had considered.

How do they fit this extra $1M under the cap…. Unless Luke’s LTIR (the dreaded jersey tug injury) will take him out through the end of the season.

I don’t know if he’d be a good coach or not. I’m just curious. I don’t want an interim now; let this season be the start of “rehab”, don’t waste the start of next season on that.

Brylin has been in the system for awhile, but I’m honestly not too sure to know what he does behind the bench. He always seems very quiet to me. If we’re going into the Devils history, I wonder about Bryce Salvador … though he just coaches 14U Bantams; I don’t think NHL is the next step for him.

Too soon. Gotta get Marky’s sv% below .900 first.

Maybe. There’s still a lot of youth on this team though, and I remember him being good with, and leaning heavily on, veterans.

So of anyone who’s available, who should be coaching the #NJDevils right now?

Don’t make fun of Zubrus. My son wore #8 all though youth hockey, from age 6 through age 18, because of Dainius Zubrus.

I’ve decided I’m going to the #NJDevils PxP announcer “La Greeka” until he learns how to pronounce Lammikko.

This game is on pace to finish with the Blue Jackets with 12 shots on goal and the Devils with 6. 🥱

It’s not a 100% successful challenge in my mind, but glad Keefe showed some spine and challenged, for a change.

I’m sticking with my nickname for the NJ Devils that I came up with before the season’s most disastrous outing:

Aside from the many WTFs about the #NJDevils play, I’ve gotta ask WTF is this? (I’m happy for Ullmark though, if we weren’t the opponent I’d be rooting for him)

Well, he said “they draw first blood” just before that, so yeah, I’m pretty sure he forgot.

I don’t even know what is true or satire anymore, but this is entirely believable this season. #NJDevils

Yikes, but what do they say? Not everyone he communicated with was involved in, or even knew of, his twisted lifestyle.

The Wild might be interested in him. Doesn’t mean they have a shot at getting him. Where I think Nico could possibly be better is advocating for the team to Fitz. Find out, especially from vets who’ve had success elsewhere, what’s lacking in NJ and needs fixing. I feel he’s probably too polite.

The Devils really needs to string together some more home wins. Bruce deserves those “Glory Days” royalties. #NJDevils

The irony of seeing Jack Hughes’s mug on the digital dasherboards next to the name of a hospital and the words “Get Checked” is not lost on me.

I’m not saying it’s all one thing or all another; I believe both contribute. But the effect doesn’t have to be as bad as it is.

Maybe he’s just brittle, or maybe it’s about poor training and conditioning, or even coaching. There are techniques to use on the ice, body positioning and the like, to avoid injury. I think the off-ice staff needs more scrutiny by management than I think it’s getting.
