Crumbling under constant attacks from Voidborn, monsters from the deepest reaches of space, humanity's last line of defence are the young pilots of ANIMA. It’s a big deal and all, but Mischa Rosenthal is more concerned about their next meal–which gets messy when they are caught breaking into somewhere they shouldn’t be, and are forcibly conscripted to the organisation. There they meet Kōgōmi Martyn, a skilled mecha pilot and, the designated “saviour of the world” chosen by focus testing and propped up by extensive propaganda campaigns. Can Mischa navigate the world of politics, backstabbing and interpersonal drama that ANIMA thrusts them into? Will they ever get on the good side of Captain Kōgōmi Martyn? And when it comes down to it… can they stop the world from ending? The answer to all of these questions is no.
