Able bodied have this fear of chronic illness. They need to know there is something you can do, or haven't done, that will make it better because they fear falling ill themselves through no fault of their own.

I wish I could give you an answer that helps.

I was about to suggest what I've read is called 'earthquake putty' which sounds like the same thing.

Finally joining bluesky so I can yell about this project! We've made a bunch of progress recently, and I can't wait to share it with everyone.

Then, while unpacking shopping and the bag we'd taken to our friend's house, we find the snacks, in the bag, were I'd put them but couldn't find them. Note: there had been ONE other thing in the bag at the time.

So, yeah, days vary wildly for me. No wonder my writing is so hit and miss sometimes.

When it came time for his afternoon snack I checked the bags FOUR times and couldn't find it.

We eventually came home to discover I'd left the gas on under the breakfast frypans when we left. They'd been heated ALL DAY. (Only good thing was the house hadn't burned down).

So, after yesterday's fantastic day of baking and writing, today has been a mess.

I woke muddle headed, feeling very washed out and foggy. Physically I've had better days, too.

We went out to a friend's for lunch. I packed snacks for hubby, he needs to eat regularly.

I heard about Manuskript last night, a friend is trailing it on Linux, wanting to moving away from Microsoft.

This is something I've want to do, but have been glued to Word for my writing.

Last night my tech-support (hubby) downloaded the Windows version for me to try.

Anyone use it? Any advice?

Yesterday was a great writing day. I not only discovered a route to plot that I'd been searching for, but I wrote 1590 words, after a long drought.

With luck, this book will actually get written.

The current Discourse about "stealing ideas" makes me feel like I must once again tap the sign.

From femaleganondorfdragmire... If you're an artist, then this is for you. This year, I want you to be unapologetic when you create. Don't apologise for your writing, music, designs, films, sculptures, cosplays, knitting, sewing, cooking, and anything else I might've missed. Don't apologise for the quality. Stop being afraid of what you can accomplish. You might think you can do so much better, well guess what? You will. You're always improving. But if you start to apologise for the best you can do at this moment, then you might restrain yourself, stop yourself from taking risks that will help you. I know this is a hard thing to stop. I do it all the time. When I submit art to people that I'm not so confident about, I'll apologise in advance. This year I challenge you, and myself, to stop doing it.

May your 2025 be a soft, slightly crumpled, gently rounded year. Cosy and comfy like a familiar blanket. Not something new and sharp with edges and agenda.

However, I really need to be better about people not speaking it "correctly." It's a goddamn trash fire. Of course people don't speak it correctly. I'm pretty sure there's no correct way to speak it. And that's leaving out all the racism and classism which goes into "grammatical perfection." English isn't Latin. It's a glorious clusterfuck of stolen parts bolted onto a bastard chassis and powered entirely by the burning of dictionaries. There is no way that it should be the Lingus francs of international affairs, and yet it is. Speak it any way you want. English doesn't give a fuck. English will take your error and turn it into a part of itself. English drinks prescriptivist tears like fine wine. Contribute to the delinquency of English any way you can.

Last day and a half, almost two days, thick fog and light rain. The fog has finally cleared this afternoon and it's still horribly humid. At least it's not 35°C again.
