This went remarkably well! Though I struggled with the top wing a bit.

I scaled it down to 2" and 1.5", but I think I want to try taking a piece down to 1" and see what I get.

Batgirl is home! We’re still not sure what’s going on with her, but she is on antibiotics, pain control, and an appetite stimulant. We are watching her very carefully. And just as important as any medication is the love and care she gets from her best friend Jupiter. 💕

Please keep sweet Batgirl in your thoughts and heart. She did not take her morning treat like she usually does so we started her on critical care and rushed her to the vet because her temperature was very low. Dr Sarah says the next 24 hours will be very critical💕

A top view of a large polymer clay butterfly wing. The rich fall colors and patterning are supposed to resemble that of a Monarch Butterfly.

This angled view shows the side and the depth of the cane. With any luck, and a bit of skill, I will be able to pinch and roll this down to a reasonable size for magnets for pendants. The smaller you reduce the cane, the longer it gets but the smaller your details get as well.

This weekend's challenge: to reduce my first irregular clay "cane" 🦋

(A "cane" is a design created large with the intention of reducing down and stretching it out so you can cut it into slices)
