Tonight I'm grateful for the fact that I'm ignorant to what the future holds. Well maybe I'm just grateful that the ignorance permits me to hope for the best.

Whilst it may not solve all of the world’s problems, I think we can all agree that having more bakeries, libraries, structures with gargoyles, quaint cafés, museums, Ukraine flags, independent bookstores, and Oxford commas would be an important first step.

Tonight I'm grateful for the full moon's light and a peaceful evening because it has been a long day supporting others. I'm also really impressed with how folks are connecting and creating joy.

Tonight I'm grateful for the wisdom to know when I need to focus my energy on what I can control. I went out and connected with a loved one. I moved my body and played with my dog. I unplugged and read. I cleaned my entire house. I had a lot of energy to redirect today.

The first things I did when TikTok went dark: made a cup of hot cocoa, created a list of state and federal reps phone numbers so I'm ready to be a menace, and settled in with a book.

I can't overstate my joy in this moment as I sit with my feet elevated on a new-to-me ottoman. I have many seats to choose from that are all comfy enough but I've only just today had this particular pleasure in my own home. Tea and a book round out my lovely evening.

Today I'm grateful for the person that offered me a kindness in the grocery store parking lot and for the hot meal that went beyond satisfying to delight my senses.

All of my energy has been devoted to keeping myself healthy enough to be able to work this week. Even though tonight feels like it should be Thursday already, I'm damn proud of my brain and body. As I settle into my bed after finishing a treatment I'm smiling because I succeeded today.

I'm a cis person and I support trans people because I believe in dignity for all and I treasure the entire spectrum of humanity. As a counselor I support my trans clients with care and discretion. As a person I advocate, vote, and financially support where I can. I stand with you!

I've noticed that my hummingbird feeder doesn't get many visitors but I have so enjoyed the one woodpecker that comes by every day while I'm drinking my coffee. They do incredible feats of gymnastics to drink the nectar and I can't help but giggle as I watch.

Today was one of those days that demands more rest than action. I'm trying very hard to embrace these days rather than despise them. It's been two years and my mind still hasn't adjusted to my new normal. But I'm grateful for well-worn sweaters and the warmth of the sun on my face. #chronicillness

I may not deserve my dog but I'm eternally grateful for his presence in my life.
Sometimes I can make a really decent cup of coffee.
Birdsong makes me smile. Always.
Humans are tough.
I wish humans didn't have to be so tough.
