1 year on from the 2024 General Election residents in Stevenage, Knebworth, Codicote, Datchworth and Aston voted for change - a lot has happened 🗳️

I was elected on a manifesto of policy pledges to make your life better after 14 years of chaotic Conservative rule.

My personal promises were centred around being local, accessible and on your side - and I’ve actioned or delivered on every single one 💯

Time goes fast, and it’s already been a year since residents in Stevenage, Knebworth, Codicote, Datchworth and Aston elected me as your local MP 🗓️

I promised to return the role of MP to its founding purpose, public service - and that’s what I’ve done ✅

And I’ve pushed constantly for the positive change we promised in our 2024 General Election manifesto to be seen and felt here in our town and villages 🏘️

It’s been a year since residents in Stevenage, Knebworth, Codicote, Datchworth and Aston elected me as your local MP 🗓️

The Douglas Drive Day Centre picnic was a lovely way to spend some of the last sunny Stevenage weekend ☀️

Hampson Park is always a beautiful place for family events, and I was delighted to win a few prizes from the tombola 🎁

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to HC-One’s Woodlands View Care Home in Stevenage today 🏠

It was lovely to meet residents there and tour the facilities - which are so well thought out and designed 🙌

I also want to highlight how incredible all of the staff were 👏

Labour fend off Reform challenge in Bedwell by-election Labour have won the Bedwell by-election in Stevenage, holding off a challenge from Reform UK.

"Now is not the time to be complacent. We must double down on delivering on what we promised. More money in people's pockets, safer streets, more appointments, hotels back to regular use and better public transport."

We were joined by the Ukrainian Defence Minister - in a fitting tribute to our unshakeable partnership 🇬🇧🤝🇺🇦

A strong, well supported armed forces is best for Britain and the wider world 💪

What an absolutely incredible Armed Forces Day in Stevenage! 🇬🇧

This Armed Forces Week, I want to reiterate my wholehearted support for implementing the armed forces covenant and commit to doing everything in my power to be a strong advocate for our local veterans 📢

My updated statement as The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill passes in the House of Commons 👇

It will now go to the House of Lords for further scrutiny 📝

and will continue to work tirelessly with the council and the government to put an end to this ❌

Whilst this is just a report, I’m encouraged that it points to action that delivers on my promise to return hotels to regular use ✅

The last Conservative Government broke our immigration system and filled local hotels with asylum seekers. This practice is unjust, unsuitable and unfair on the taxpayer 👎

I have opposed the use of hotels for asylum seekers at every stage…

As the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill nears the final vote, I shared my thoughts on BBC 3 Counties Radio after months of research, debate and consultation 📻👇

Great to discuss Labour’s new consumer charter for families in military homes with Al Carns, Minister for Veterans and People 🏠

Homes that are genuinely fit for our heroes have been a long time coming, so I’m glad this will go a long way to improving coverage and conditions 👏

This cutting-edge technology will optimise manufacturing processes so that treatments and cures can be delivered en masse more efficiently and effectively 🔬

It was great to visit the Catapult Gene and Cell Therapy site in Stevenage last week for the opening of the new Digital Automation Testbeds 🧬

Thanks to the Minister of State for Science, Research, and Innovation, Lord Patrick Valance for attending 👨‍🔬

I’d like to thank Young Minds UK for their advocacy, their #MissingTheMark campaign shines a light on the long overdue reforms needed to our exam system👏

Great to join Baroness Merron, Minister for Patient Safety, Women's Health and Mental Health, to hear first hand from young people about the impact exams has on their mental wellbeing 📝

Loved attending one of my favourite events of the year, the Datchworth Fete, with my good friend and fantastic local Datchworth Parish Councillor Julia Florence 🎡

It was great to catch up with residents, chat about issues in the villages and stay in touch with the community 🏘️
