Not allowed to eat anything beforehand because it's under general anaesthesia. Most days it's no problem.

Today it's a problem.

I'm starving.

I could eat a horse.

Overrated, let's be honest

My great grandparents spoke German, but both stopped speaking it in the 40s. Everyone after them spoke English only. I understand why, but it still makes me sad

I just need to be able to pay my rent next month and get KitKat registered in hockey, and to buy groceries. And then I'm (currently scheduled to be) back to work the third week of September.

I want to give a thank-you card to the doctors and nurses in the ECT department at the hospital. I'm six treatments in and already feeling more centred and grounded and calm, and this is amazing to me.

Would a card be weird? I realize they're just doing their job, but it's fixing my life

She loses coffee privileges by leaving, as I'm the coffee gofer

My work wife is giving her two week notice today 😭😭😭

I'm glad for her, she's getting a substantial raise by quitting. But I'm sad for me.

Honestly I feel better rested and more centred today than I've felt in literal years, and I've only had three sessions so far.

I'm actually really hopeful that this is going to let me live my life and enjoy it, instead of just sleeping it away

So I'm off work for my ECT treatments.

I'm supposed to be getting short term disability pay, but nobody will tell me how to get the supervising shrink to fill out the attending physician's report, so my insurer hasn't processed my claim yet.

Rent is due tomorrow and I don't have it. 😬

Does your dentist have trouble freezing you? Mine has to use like four times the amount to keep me frozen

Yeah I'm going to be having a conversation with anaesthesiology before my next session as I would not like to do that again.

Fun fact: I'm a redhead. Not brilliant orange, but like strawberry blonde.

Which I was reminded of this morning when I went under anaesthesia and was fully aware of the fact that I was paralyzed and couldn't breathe.
