29.09.2025 20:38 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I have psa and my disability application is currently being evaluated by social security - so i'd like the govt open--- but my kid is trans and i hope and pray that democrats take action and stand firm to protect their rights and yours
29.09.2025 20:33 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I am a surgical candidate, but only if I loose weight. Because of the condition that I am not allowed to have surgery for, I need to take meds that have a side effect of gaining weight. I have had a gastric sleeve, I count calories and insurance does not cover GLP-1s. Ugh #chroniclife

19.07.2025 13:36 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Nothing amplifies your chronic issues like an acute incident. Traumatic injury on Friday night requires non weight bearing (wheelchair for me because other side knee and same side wrist are bad). Follow up with hematology and pcp, and preventative antibiotics. Ugh.
28.04.2025 15:32 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I use figure 8 lace up braces when things are bad - but if it's not super bad or I know i am going to be on uneven ground I use hiking boots - they are easier to get onn and off and give my ankles the support they need
26.04.2025 22:24 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You know how they say if you go to work hungover, thatโs addiction and itโs time to get help? IMO thatโs the metric we should apply to disability: if youโre going to work when normies with the same symptoms would call out and/or go to the doctor, hereโs your benefits, thatโs disability

09.03.2025 17:16 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Getting ready to fly to a work event. My #psoriaticarthritis is an invisible disability. I use a wheelchair for distance in airports in hopes that it saves stress on my body. Packing to go on my annual company trip to Mexico sounds glam, until I start packing first aid kits, backup steroids, backup pain meds, just in case antibiotics, CPAP, psoriasis skin creams & ointments. I think my disease needs its own bag and I don't want to take it with me

I am currently working on a sensory blanket - the blanket will be made up of several 6-12 inch wide strips that each have a different texture.
It will be donated for a theatre project that makes musical theatre accessible to young disabled actors

04.03.2025 18:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If the democrats don't show a dramatic display of resistance to trump/musk tonight I will be looking for a new party that really represents my values.
Oh, and can someone start a new party please?
I am absolutely terrified about what is to come for our seniors and disabled Americans. I have been fully disabled for more than a decade, and depend on social security.
Stress actually exacerbates MANY disabilities. People WILL die because of this.
At my Rheumatologist's office today and she mentioned how many patients had come in crying in the past two months. She asked them if they were in pain and they said that's not it. It's just everything. Everything is too much
04.03.2025 01:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That is frustrating
04.03.2025 00:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That is a lot of surgeries, although if i think about it I average about 1 a year if I don't count pain procedures

03.03.2025 23:43 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I would recommend getting a second opinion from an academic medical center. I had a rough go of my diagnosis in my small town, but when I got to Northwestern my a Rheumatologist was very thoughtful, took time and definitely understood that some people are seronegative
