The coordinated nature of thisβ€”none are facing voters in 2026β€”means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.

SODCO - U.S. Scientific Ocean Drilling Coordination Office SODCO is a collaboration between Texas A&M University and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, providing support for scientific ocean drilling proposals, expeditions, and community engagement.

The initial SODCO website is now online and will evolve over time. Keep an eye open for Scientific Ocean Drilling events (looking at you @agu.org Annual Meeting) and announcements about proposals, workshops, expeditions, internships, etc…

There are very few energy sources in the deep sea to support biology. Seeps (hot and cold) are one of the primary ones, forming local hotspots. The cold seeps form pokemarks, which can expand into channels if a current catches them. πŸ§ͺ🌊

CBS News kills its climate unit David Ellison, the new pro-Trump chief executive of Paramount Skydance, has dismantled the best climate change reporting team in cable news.

A scoop that I’m not happy to report:

CBS News has gutted its climate change reporting team, one of the best in the business, and one of the only ones on cable news that consistently called out fossil fuels as the main source of climate pollution.
