Atmospheric CO2 has passed 430 parts per million.
The last time atmospheric CO2 was at 430 ppm was during the ancient Pliocene Era, three to five million years ago, and humans didn’t exist.

Dear all,
The Stand Up For Science movement has gained exceptional momentum in France. This Friday, March 7, we will have the opportunity to collectively express our solidarity with scientists and academics working in the United States, Argentina, and all countries where academic freedom is under threat. We hope to bring them strength as they wake up to see that mobilization is already widespread here, with around fifty events taking place in thirty cities.
Tomorrow’s marches and rallies will also be an opportunity to stand together against the threats facing public research and universities here as well. Stand Up For Science was born from the momentum of the scientists and citizens who joined it. It is now up to us to turn it into a lasting movement in the weeks ahead. There is much to be done: welcoming scientists and academics forced into exile, securing scientific data and results, driving the necessary changes to confront democratic, social, climate, ecological, and health crises, and lifting knowledge-producing and knowledge-sharing institutions out of financial distress.
On March 7, let us rise for science—and then, let us remain standing.
In solidarity with scientists and academics working in the United States, Argentina, and all countries where academic freedom is under threat.
Today, French scientists and citizens rally in more that 30 cities #StandUpForScience
