The prolonged scenes with the wounded, the deliberate focus on their mistakes, and the very obvious ineffectiveness of their entire mission felt like something where they were trying to go out of their way to show how useless it was. Maybe my perspective is skewed but it was a rough watch for me.

Nothing about that movie made them feel cool or competent to me. It felt like I was watching a chewed up, careless squad, that ended up in a fucked up situation that they caused themselves and had to have their asses pulled out of the fire by other more competent elements. Different view maybe.
