Woohoo, it arrived! I haven't been this excited for a game in.. quite some time.

Steam achievement "Vengeance: Beat the game" for Dark Deity 2

Dark Deity 2 beaten! Fun game. Made me once again wish there were more tactical RPGs. Also, impressively good voice acting!

3 weeks later and they're ready to go! They're very tasty. Strong vinegar and clove flavors, and almost none of the usual beet earthiness. Big fan of the color, too.

Today's experiment: strawberry powder in the starter. Will the bread taste like strawberries? Will it have a pink tint? I dunno!

Success! I think the secret was patience. It smells a lot fruitier than I expected. Got a loaf proofing overnight, and I'm excited to see how it turns out!

Was the sourdough starter ready? Not at all. Did the dough finish proofing? Also no. But it still looks decent, and it tastes like bread, so I'm counting that as a success.

In parallel, from a suggestion, I started a new small batch in a jar. It's much cuter.

Day 5. Another slow day, but there are _some_ bubbles, and it smells soury, so things are still happening.

That sounds like much less of a hassle (and less wasteful, too)! I might have to give that a try. Thanks!

Will do! For the pint jar approach, can you do that starting with just flour, no commercial yeast/donated starter (which is what I'm attempting here)?

I think this is just for the very beginning? (I'm following the steps in a book). Once it gets going, it gets trimmed down quite a bit. Also, the tub is way bigger than necessary, it's just what I have.

Thanks for the reassurance :). I'm not super worried, I just didn't expect day 2->3 activity to be so much better than day 3->4 activity when I did the same thing both days.

I've been playing Dark Deity 2. It's fun! Gwyn seems pretty strong (she took all the elixirs for herself)

Just started watching Scavengers Reign. I love how fantastical it is. It reminds me a lot of Alien Planet (at least, in the "let's dream up all sorts of crazy alien creatures" sense).

Pumpkin Cardamom Muffins! Very autumn-y, and quite tasty. Some of the topping tried to escape.
