Music degrees are so compact that you hardly have time to take anything "fun". Any non-music courses are had were generic gen-ed courses like an intro lab science (I took astronomy), geography, sociology 101, English comp., etc.

Five classes I took:

1. Orchestration
2. Instrumental conducting
3. Counterpoint
4. Medieval music theory
5. Music cognition and perception

That's completely understandable. I almost ended up in the south because I applied to the Coleg Brenhinol Cerdd a Drama Cymru, but I didn't end up going there. Ironically, one of the reasons why was that I didn't know anyone and would have felt isolated in Caerdydd!

My dad's family is still in the Wrecsam area now, mostly. I think one of my uncle transplanted to Manchester, or at least he had the last time I saw him.
