Ben very kindly gave me a copy of this, but I haven't had a chance to write a full review. It's an intriguing account of the much maligned Prome Minister's attempts to keep the peace ahead of World War Two. Well worth your attention, available here: benjamindickson.sumupstore.com/product/cham...

The new edition of Chamberlain has arrived! Same content but without the swastika on the cover. The book has proved really popular, although the first cover was a little controversial. I'll have copies at MCM and Thought Bubble, or you can buy either edition right now from www.bendickson.co.uk

The name Hegseth sounds suspiciously like a Lovecraftian creature to me.

Not unless John Harvey Kellogg also invented the time machine. Though that may explain a thing or two about his reasoning.

Incidentally, that monorail episode has killed any possibility of building a new monorail anywhere in Britain. I personally think a monorail network would be amazing for Bristol, as we're sure as hell not getting an underground. Anyway, sorry, AI.

When I was travelling and people would ask what Bristol is like, I would tell them that every day is Talk Like A Pirate day.

In the book, Long John Silver's pub - The Spyglass - is in Bristol, which is why Robert Newton went with that accent. And like Dick Van Dyke, he didn't quite get it right. It doesn't bother me - it bothers me a lot more that young Jim Hawkins inexplicably has an American accent.

See also The Shawshank Redemption. Yes it's a great film, yes it has an uplifting ending, but there's a hell of a lot of Shawshank to get through before you get to any redemption.

Netflix currently have a murder mystery series set around Loch Ness. It looks intriguing, but if I watch it and the murderer doesn't turn out to be the Loch Ness Monster then I will be cancelling my subscription.

It honestly astonishes me how many people are completely unaware of motion smoothing being used on their TV, and literally can't see it. Which makes me wonder why TV manufacturers implemented it in the first place!
