It's incredibly sad to hear hundreds of EPA staff are being fired today without cause, without due process, and with disregard to the impacts for public health and the environment. It's too early to know the specifics but a random walk through EPA press releases shows the important work at stake:

Some other reports say that agencies have a hard deadline of Tuesday at 8PM to fire probationary employees. Some agencies affected by the “purge” so far includes USDA, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Department of Energy, Veterans Affairs, Department of Education, and OPM itself. (Not and exhaustive list).

Update on probationary fires. 388 employees so far have been terminated by the agency. The agency initially told reporters this number was closer to 500.
