I finally got around to adjusting my Bluesky handle to use the domain of the LLIRN's website.
One of the most recent additions to the site is my project page for my ongoing work on language, asylum and credibility 🤗 I love having one place to collate everything!
These ones are at Dairyville (inland from Coffs Harbour) on Gumbaynggir land.

I saw some epic stag horns on the weekend.
#Langsky I'd love to know what these are called in other languages (the plants growing on the trees)

From what I understand, the closest meaning would be just recompense for good or bad deeds.
Great rice nonetheless!
Black circle with blessings in each plate written inside.
Back of pack with lots of nutritional information in lots of languages. Description at the top, explaining the meaning of jazaa as blessing
Interestingly the definition of جزاء used by the brand seems to require a certain amount of poetic licence...

Love a creative language-related label! Here, the brand logo features the Arabic word جزاء combined with its transliteration jazaa with the j and ز one letter

For the past 25 years there has never been a national security law that has done anything other than to give more power to cops and spooks and to ministers to stifle anyone who disagrees with the status quo.

Little note in the new Bill on Hate Speech
Good thing there will never be a Minister who acts in bad faith when they go about banning groups.
The banning power says the “Minister is not required to observe any requirements of procedural fairness” before criminalising and banning an organisation (and exposing current and former members to criminal prosecution). These are Trumpian powers, removing the usual checks for good decision-making.
