I’m so sorry. That loss of smell and taste is definitely a brain damage thing although it’s rarely framed as such. (A neurologist told me this).

And it’s started already. Within five minutes of posting this I got the first notification that someone had blocked me.
Denial is a very powerful coping strategy but it’s not going to help.
This isn’t good news, but there is no point ignoring it.

It’s the police response that is so horrifying. That poor woman. Actually, all those poor women.

So many people are wondering if behaviour and attitudes really are getting worse. Yes. Yes they are.
And this is why.
EVERYONE WHO HAS HAD COVID HAS BRAIN DAMAGE.
Reduced empathy, disinhibition, poor decision making, less analytical thinking.
The world is worse because people are losing humanity

Yes indeed, they do have history of engagement with First Nations people. And it’s an ugly racist history.
I spent a week in 2000 trying to teach inclusion and cultural sensitivity to NT Centrelink staff (all white). Not a good experience for me or them I think.

Finally finding a GP who isn’t fat-hating has changed how I feel about medicine and treatment. But I was almost 60 years old before I found her!
Our first consult she said “ you’re never going to be thin and that’s just fine”. I wrote it down, I was so moved. 🩷💜

As long as the victims are women or children the law is not interested in the perpetrators. They are interested in holding the victims responsible.
As soon as (white) men are victims, laws can be enacted in minutes. Remember the Sydney one punch laws?
