I'm just surprised at all the people who seem to be ignorant of the existence of anarchists, and the fact that they don't share the same goals and tactics.
Like I'm not the most well-read person around, but that seems disqualifying for anyone who considers themselves politically aware.
CULTURE How the Gullah-Geechee People Stopped Gentrification Dead in its Tracks... For Now Since 2023, an effort to raise property taxes and displace Black Gullah-Geechee residents has threatened the community's deep history. By Phenix S Halley Published January 21, 2026 A Gullah Geechee man holds up an official flag of the Gullah Geechee people at Station Creek Landing in St Helena, South Carolina, on July 11,2023. Isolated on islands scattered along the coast, ancestors of those in the Gullah Geechee community relied on the land and sea. They created their own culture, fed by their African heritage, and even developed their own Creole language. Hundreds of thousands of people are today part of the community - which is threatened by climate change, gentrification, and real estate developers circling like hawks. The Gullah-Geechee community should not have to pay a cent to save their home.
