like 2/3 of the fights in FMA start and then just skip to the end or come back later to show you its over and that alone makes it the superior show lol

I mean in the end its all taste but a weak opening to 03 seems better than the painful opening of Brotherhood. I need to read the manga again, I just feel like all the changes from 03 to brotherhood are like childish simplifications. Feels like they threw flame decals and mountain dew on it.

brotherhood is fun for sure, barely think about or remember it though. Big fights for the sake of big fights kills a story for me and it takes all this soft nuance and sadness and is like no punch big cgi monster oooooooooooooo. 3episodes about genocide? fuck that how about 3 fighting punch guy

hate to say I think where it diverges it what makes it better. But Honestly I should read the manga again. Hell the manga writer helped write the 03 anyways.

its not like I actually think brotherhood is bad but brotherhood like fades into the sea of all the other pretty fun anime I have watched over the course of my life while 03 has given me lots to think about.

every plot point hits harder, every character is more nuanced and impactful. Brotherhood is like a great shonen sure but FMA is a story imo that is so much more human and thoughtful and resonating.

Just finished watching FMA '03 again with the bun and its amazing to me Brotherhood is ever considered better in any way.
