Inspired by @davekershaw.bsky.social ‘s efforts I thought I would get on with upping the visual tactile side of the Dublin Castle playtest materials with some blocks (dice show forces so keeping cubicle makes some sense).

Looks like a lot of fun. DM me if you want to have a go at my game, which uses the same system as Bonaparte's Eastern Empire.

This game starts with Hoche in 1796, it then allows the Batavian effort of 1797, as well as the latter efforts. Getting Hoche to Ireland is not easy with the weather and, once alerted, the royal navy. My opponent was especially inept with dice rolling though!

Missing the Ottomans who stood with them (well, some of them did).

Weekend #wargaming—some players thought the standard “Wings of Glory” scenario I run should be, well, even harder, so I’m adding dynamic weather in the form of moving clouds to unpredictably obscure bombing targets. Didn’t hurt it gave me an excuse to acquire a new map as well.

Really made some progress today!

Playtesting The Charge, a light-hearted wargame about the charger of the light brigade. I got 67 of required 70 victory points here. So close. But then I also lost most of the light brigade, so it was a grand failure which unfortunately I couldn't blame on a subordinate.
