There was a French bulldog named T-Rex that came in at the vet last night and honestly that made me smile even in the midst of being a total trainwreck over Bart. Her two very tall and imposing fathers brought her in after she hurt her back while playing (she's fine) and clearly loved her very much.

I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up, considering how serious we know her condition is, but she just. Seems so much like she's back to herself now, even with all the wobbly movement and awful coughing. Calling the vet to update them in the morning, so I'll know more then.

-Hard one to post right now, but so grateful for the almost prescient-ly lovely morning Bart and I shared yesterday, before everything happened. And Sunday she'd spent several hours getting endless pets from dear humans, too. Like the universe gave us both those gifts to cushion the blow.

Every single one of you has shared in the joy this little peanut has brought me for the last 10+ years together. That alone is an unbelievable blessing, and I'm so grateful and thankful for you all *no matter how* we end up saying goodbye to her. Gentle soft nose nudges from Bart, and all my love.

She's standing today and is in pretty good spirits, which is wonderful if she's able to maintain it. She still has a very limited amount of time left regardless, but at least this gives us (hopefully) another week, or month at absolute best. 🖤

Well. This really sucks. Mass in Bart's lung that can't be removed. She collapsed about 4 hours ago, still can't stand. If she's still unable to stand by tomorrow night, it's her time.
