New post: Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Should Immediately Start a (Video) Podcast

@jimmykimmel.com and @colbertlateshow.bsky.social should probably start a (video) podcast immediately that would quickly get tens of millions of views on YouTube

New post! Senate Democrats Should Refuse to Help Republicans Keep the Government Open

"It may seem counterintuitive, but by shutting down, Democrats in Congress have a rare opportunity to make an affirmative case for what government can and should be."

Age of winning 6th grand slam:

Novak Djokovic: 25
Roger Federer: 24
Pete Sampras: 23
Rafael Nadal: 22

Carlos Alcaraz: 22

Carlos Alcaraz, the best player in the world πŸ™Œ

Even though Alcaraz has a head-to-head advantage over Sinner all time, I’m not sure he’s ever been clearly ahead of Sinner in terms of power, accuracy, speed, and focus all at the same time

07.09.2025 20:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I feel kinda bad for all the men’s tennis players born in the 90s who have collectively won 2 grand slams, but none of them are ever winning one again unless both Alcaraz and Sinner are injured at the same time

There’s no better example of thermostatic public opinion than a crowd of people who may generally want one player to win but also paid thousands of dollars to see the longest match possible and thus change loyalties a bit when the other player is losing too badly

There will be a billion hot takes about Arch Manning’s performance, but he did better against Ohio State in his 3rd career start (and first road start) than Colt McCoy, a Texas Longhorn legend, did in his 2nd career start against Ohio State (at home), who subsequently won the national championship

The Countercurrent in Public Opinion That Should Keep Democrats on High Alert While there are some similarities to the political landscape of today compared to eight years ago, one big difference between now and then should be a five-alarm fire for Democrats.

Democrats Need More Public Introspection About a Vision For Improving Its Toxic Brand Republican governance is deeply unpopular, but Democrats are taking a huge risk with their own brand if they define themselves solely in opposition to Donald Trump and Republicans.

Recuperating the Democratic Party's Brand Should Focus on Fixing Institutional Trust The new WSJ survey may have been eye-catching, but the Democratic Party's brand erosion has been years in the making. Wrestling with broader distrust in government is one key to starting a recovery.

Over the weekend, I saw the WSJ survey with the Democratic Party's favorability at its lowest point in 35 years, and I had some thoughts.

So, I'm finally joining the Substack Cabal ℒ️ with "Walking Through the Data." Please follow along!

The Real Problem With the Democrats’ Ground Game Democratic organizers are hesitant to admit when get-out-the-vote efforts don’t work. One group is trying to change that.

This is a great piece: it is important to try than not try at all, important to know if you failed so you can try again in a data-informed way, and most importantly, being honest and transparent when you do fail so others can learn and innovate. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
