The main reason why I never offload cognitive thinking to LLMs is that frictiontless output is a pernicious trap. Seems smart, but long term it's you who becomes replaceable. If the use case is to speed up useless work, it's a sign to change your life, not how you produce something to the society.

That means I won't post about software and Ruby that much as before, or maybe at all. I am giving myself time to let that come back naturally and in the meantime, explore what being an active citizen in my local community looks like.

Over the past few months, I decided to "retire" from online community work. My interests have changed a lot and I decided to direct that focus into building meaningful and local connections with my community.

I am now participating more in local communities and it's making me happier.

Two perf dataviz patterns:

1. Compare vs last week's data. Timeshifting eliminates day/night and day-of-week based traffic patterns/noise.
2. Graph "% change versus last week" (a/b*100).

Look at how much noise you remove when you combine both.

It’s easy to forget that just because it has always been this way, it doesn’t mean it has to continue so.

I am usually excited to learn things and embrace getting frustrated BUT DO NOT ENJOY CONFIGURING OR INSTALLING ANYTHING. I can not ever work with infra or devops for that reason xD

Kitchen Nightmares is a great example of how you can have a big team, even with great people there, but without a leader who knows what they are doing, and jumps in to support the team, your business will suffer.
