Farewell and so long, Prince of Darkness.
Your time upon this earth has touched more lives than one can count.
You put it perfectly into words - it's so surreal witnessing history becoming myth in real time, and the true scope encompassed by his works is simply too hard to grasp.
It's difficult even to imagine that this is the end of just the beginning. So little time and it felt like an era.
The living roots of heavy metal are now passing into history
The end of an era and 'the end of the beginning'
Its hard not to feel a heavy emotion that isnt even necessarily about Ozzy himself but what he represents to heavy metal
Black Sabbath and Ozzy - you will always be legends
There's immense sadness, but it's incredibly moving to be able to share this pain and mourn together.
This too is part of Ozzy's legacy. A deep bonding and connection between all of us.
And so now we weep together.
Moments like this are a sting on our collective spirit because of how art and creation connect and empower us across time itself. Its the magic in the mundane
We're just a brief flame blinking between the nothingness -- and the love and beauty we share in the burning means something
I love you all
But beyond his persona and beyond his voice something that still back then shook me to core was hearing War Pigs live and it was like I was reading the Gutenberg bible.
The true, original, blueprint.
I have always jokingly said that I sold my soul seeing him live but I do believe that it was the closest I ever came to a paranormal experience.
Even in 2018, so not like the 80s, but he had an insane stage presence and I was completely transfixed as he sung.
Words cannot express how huge his legacy is. An entire genre, a rich community, a whole culture, spawned from the works of his band.
And now he's gone... the world is not the same anymore.
I am the person I am today became of heavy metal. My passion for this music shapes my daily life in every sense, and I wouldn't have come this far, I wouldn't have overcome all of my difficulties, without metal music.
And it's literally all because of Ozzy. He's the maker of it all.
rip to the originator of (slow heavy metal playing)

22.07.2025 19:01 โ ๐ 89 ๐ 7 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0I really cannot conceptualise how hard Ozzy's death is hitting me, truly.
Every songs of every band, it all goes back to him. Everything we know and love about metal can be tracked back and pinpointed to Black Sabbath's 1970 debut album.
Just one single album from a single band.
Ozzy's death hitting so hard I'm back here
23.07.2025 00:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'm honestly really looking forward to Easter this year.
I'm not going home to my family, rather I'm going to Essen to see Ye Banished Privateers lmao
Regarding my first point, I'm also living a rather monastic life as of now. Which I absolutely enjoy and find very calming, but I need a point of contact with the outside world.
My daily routine, with some exceptions, is being mainly comprised of studying at the library next to my house.
Weirdly enough I want to make an effort to return to (this) social media, for two reasons in particular.
First, currently I'm living abroad and alone; I want a place to record my random experiences and thoughts.
Second, I really miss a place to talk about metal, exchanging recommendations, etc.
music with which I learned English: punk rock, metal, etc.
music with which I am learning German: Rammstein, socialist hymns, miners' songs
it's currently 2 am at night and Radio BOB! is airing Living After Midnight
Hell yeah
fuck linear operators all my homies hate linear operators

04.02.2025 00:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Anyone knows brands for metal/rock/etc inspired clothes? Not necessarily band merch, but that's the vibe.
I need new hoodies and I want something I like but I would like quality things too.
Being both a leftist and someone interested in privacy has been... interesting in the last week, since DeepSeek was unveiled.

29.01.2025 16:14 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yesterday I played The Last Of Us: Escape The Dark, a boardgame. I really really liked it, I knew the bare bones mechanics already and the ambience was really great. I now feel a tiny tiny bit of curiosity towards the two videogames but... after covid I realised I can't handle postapocalyptic stuff.
