Teacher, complainer, etc. I spend way too much energy convincing kids to read books. I also needlepoint, sew, and play Dungeons and Dragons.

my modest disagreement is that i think it is important to signal virtue even if, privately, you are a piece of shit. performing decency is an important part of maintaining the norm that decency is part of a well ordered society.

Not only have "learning styles" been debunked, we have to remember that writing is not a learning style or preferred learning mode. It is an essential mode of learning for ALL students and we must ensure that students are consistently engaging with learning through writing.
19.11.2024 00:28 β π 15 π 5 π¬ 1 π 0What it means to have a strong relationship with students is culturally determined and deeply individual. Stakeholders are likely going to disagree on what it looks like in practice. Is it worth explicitly naming what we are aiming for? Or is that too prescriptive? Idk these are my bus thoughts
